Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong, born 8 February 1984, is an American comedian, actress who is also a producer, performer, and stand-up comedian. Strong is well-known for her role as a Saturday Night Live cast member between 2012 and 2022. Strong is the longest-tenured female actor during the course of the show's history. Strong was a CalArts graduate who did improv in The Second City in Chicago. She is currently the host of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! She co-produces (2021 to the present).



 



 Other roles she's played as a voice actor include The Awesomes (2013-2015), and supporting roles in movies such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015 she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, This Will All End Soon Soon It was published by Random House in 2021.



 



 She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist on an Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter of Penelope Strong and William Strong. Strong was the director of the Associated Press bureau and also ran his own PR firm up to 2013. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse practitioner as well as working at several local hospitals. Strong's parents divorced. Strong was a child who adored SNL as a youngster, reenacting sketches with her partner and watching old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape that contained the best commercials and I would wear it every single day." She's stated that she was influenced by the late Phil Hartman.
